Customer Reviews
From a ex- "crackberry" addict and current iPhone user...
I be obliged preface this review by stating that I am a recovering "crackberry" hophead. I have owned several RIM devices through the years, most recently the 8820. I made the pounce to the iPhone last Summer and haven't looked back... until now.
I got my hands on the Striking 9700 this past week and am considering the switch from the iPhone subvene to the Blackberry. Below I will list my favorite aspects of the phone:
Prime battery life - unlike the iPhone this device can go a variety of days without needing charging (I have to plug my iPhone in each night and sometimes have to find time during a busy day to assess the device).
Gorgeous display - the display is vibrant, rich and faithful for viewing photos, videos etc.
The new tracking device - I was a little faltering with this change as I enjoyed the trackball that accompanied the 8820 - but I ought to state the new technology is an improvement, even if it did take an hour or so to get acclimated to.
Camera - the 3.2 MP camera took surprisingly respectable pictures and is a major upgrade over previous camera enabled Blackberry releases.
Apps - much like the iPhone, Blackberry has caught on to the deprivation for apps and customizing and the included capabilities of youtube, XM radio (payment needed), facebook etc. make this device competitive with Apples production offerings.
Key pad - Nothing beats a full keypad, and though this one "feels" smaller than the 8820 keypad, the keys are on a slope and are easier to find and thus more user friendly IMO.
In finale I would state that I am leaning toward switching backside to Blackberry just for the instantaneous e-mail that it offers. The iPhone has been fun, but I almost never play games or anything of that sort on it anymore and the Blackberry is a more obligation friendly device and I miss having a full keyboard (not to impart I miss not having to clean my screen every other day because of having to equal it so often (see the iPhone and other touch-screen devices).

Not a crackberry fiend
OK, so I am not a CrackBerry zealot and this is my first BlackBerry with the exception of the one issued by effort years ago that I think is a generation zero and my company has so locked fluff I can't even chat on it. My last phone was the Iphone. My AT&T account was worthy for an upgrade and they still do not offer Android phones and I was not acquiescent to switch to a CDMA phone which eliminates Verizon and I desideratum better coverage than what T-Mobile offers because I go a lot. It was coming down to a BlackBerry which, I already knew is not the first smartphone for internet and the Iphone which of course is not the best phone for "staying in excite".
What totally pushed me over the edge and why I went with this phone was blunt and simple, I can cache the stations from Slacker Radio on the BlackBerry and Iphone does not let you. Now while this may not appearance of like a big deal to some people, I have to ride on the NY tube "A" line from the first stop in Queens all the way to Canal Avenue in Manhattan. A large majority of that trip is underground with no apartment service. Being able to cache the Slacker stations means that I do not fool to spend any more money downloading from Itunes or everywhere else just to have the music get old after a month.
Now retaliation to the actual product. I have to admit that I am very pleasantly surprised with how much I in point of fact like this BlackBerry. The BlackBerry interface is very cosy to use and program. The text messaging is much better with a actual keyboard and BlackBerry has its own BlackBerry Messenger Service that allows you to talk/text with other BlackBerry users anywhere in the mankind for free and does not count towards your service providers workbook allowance.
As expected the internet part of the BlackBerry is worse, not splendid, but definitely not as good as the Iphone.
I gave this product 5 stars balanced though I feel the internet experience was subpar because entire I am extremely pleased with every other aspect of this phone and it in point of fact exceeded my expectations. I figured if I hated it I still had my Iphone and I would lawful go back to it but, instead I have sold my Iphone and plan on keeping this for the 18 months when I command be eligible for the next upgrade and see what's out there then. I do not see my self fashionable "addicted" to BlackBerry unless they really finally overhaul the web browser and still want to see what AT&T will be coming out with that transfer be running the Android system. But for now only BlackBerry, not droid or Iphone, allows you to cache the Idler stations so that will keep me here for awhile.
I am equally impressed with the BlackBerry earphones that come with the 9700, they are for all and I mean definitely much better than the ones that get with the Iphone. I can wear these all day and my ears do not hurt. The bass is euphonious good once you turn on the bass boost in the phone and it comes with 3 opposite size ear gels for a custom fit.
I would also like to get into the mobile life. I leave 3 different chats open at all times (Google, Lively and AIM) plus I play the Slacker radio a lot and get over a days quality of juice out of the battery. To put it simple I use a lot more juice than others do and the freestyle life is, in my opinion, better than the Iphone. With the Iphone I would get far a day and you have to take into account that I could not use Skiver Radio, and with the BlackBerry a day and a half, again that is with cheerless use. I would imagine that most people would get through 2 days out of the BlackBerry battery.
BTW: If you buy this phone you have to go to crackberry dot com and probe out all the free downloads they have over there for BlackBerrys.
I Dialect expect this was helpful. If you have any questions, just leave a remark on and I will answer them as best as I can.

Yet Unorthodox Amazing Phone from RIM
I oblige owned the Blackberry T7105, 8320 Curve (T-Mobile), another 8320 Curve (AT&T), and now the Plucky 9700. This is the best Blackberry I have ever owned, and it's not even-handed close.
The 3G Speed is lightning quick when surfing the web or downloading an email partiality. It is actually faster than if I have WiFi enabled including my wireless router. The screen and graphics are razor sharp. The processor make tracks, which is the main reason I upgraded after owning my definitive 8320 for only 7 months, is just phenomenal! I haven't seen an hour crystal yet. My favorite thing is that the Bold 9700 is the same measure as my old 8320.
The interface is very similar to the older 4.X OS that's on the Curve, lately much nicer, faster, and equally intuitive. The camera takes top-hole pictures (2048x1536), and saves them in about 1 advance vs. the 4-5 second lag on an 8320. I love that this phone comes with a 2GB recall card included. It also comes with a really small leather case.
Call quality and reception so far have been A-one. I honestly can't find a downside to this phone.
If you are badly in poverty of an upgrade, this phone is definitely worth upgrading to. Not so persuaded jumping from a Bold to a Bold 9700 makes much quick-wittedness, but if you go from a Curve or Pearl to this phone it will be a great improvement.

Good divice; keys to small
This is a unequivocally nice gadget, it has been improved in many aspects, all of them mentioned in other coments, the barely two negative aspects I found are:
- Keys are toooo small! Its a soreness to write something. Old models have better keyboards.
- Requirements improvements in the Browser.
If you don't have problems with this too items I advisable the phone.
Kind Regards,
Sergio.

Few improvements but not ample.
I set up been using this phone for about a week now. And while this crest beats previous bold 9000 in many aspects there is serene much to be improved. So let me first say things that I do like in all directions the phone. Of course the greatest improvement was the addition of the trackpad, at before all it was kind of unusual to navigate with it but I got accustomed to it very quick. Second thing is the screen resolution, it was improved from the old confident by 480x360 vs 480x320 pixels. The screen is extraordinarily crisp and bright and sunlight legibility is very decent. The camera likewise experienced an improvement and while I was taking pictures outside on a lambent day and later comparing them to the previous bold, there is a quite noticeable change, pictures look somewhat close to my missus's 10 megapixel canon camera. I was also surprised by the improved standing of the videos this device shoots. Much better and smaller quantity pixelated than the original bold! Now for the things that I don't like or wished to be improved. In spite of of the fact that everyone raves about "amazing" mobile life on this device, I must say I am disappointed. At best, the mobile lasts me a day and a half but not two day as many reviewers say. Perhaps I do extensive web browsing and conversation via instant messaging. I usually like to read various blogs and tidings on opera mini 5 browser and I noticed that this utilization along with IM+ drains battery like crazy! Of passage at least now I don't have to carry a spare battery with me like it was with the preceding bold since I am sure this one will last me for the broad day. But most often I still have to charge it every continuously. Which is kind of a disappointment and not what I expected after reading a number of reviews. Now about the browser: It sucks.... It simply sucks so much that any other smartphone's browser order put it to shame. But another annoying problem now that I noticed is that I can't get to movable version of citibank online at all! No matter how I would reconfigure the browser... So it means no banking online for me as I Euphemistic pre-owned to do on my previous bold. Very annoying... The browser is lull slow as hell and only the fact that I have opera on this phone doesn't hyperbolize it a deal breaker. I must say though that I am running a latest .405 variation of the software and perhaps the issue with banking online dialect mayhap be fixed in later versions. Which I again, doubt uncommonly much. Now another disappointment is the absence of many supported languages. For norm there is no Russian support whatsoever. But than again, it may be released in the later versions. I faith so. And now last but not least is the speaker quality. In the first day of use I noticed that the orator has been downgraded. Instead of the three speakers which premature bold had, this device has only one and when you bring the abundance all the way up you can hear a rattling noise. Not a very nice experience... Total I like the device especially it's size, I was skeptical about it as I liked the striking 9000 big screen. But this one seems to be slim and looks more eye tempting. also I like the battery cover design, you can not accidentally extend it and whole device seems sturdy and has a look of a professional stooge. Hopefully with next updates there will be undergo for more languages. But as of now I am giving it only 3 stars.

appealing good
My daughter has acclimatized this phone for about 3 months and loves it. She said the but downside is that it can be "slow" or "choppy" on occasion when typing or receiving a verse, but not enough to really bother her. (I should note that she sends and receives hundreds of texts every day!) So, for the premium and included air time, it was a good deal!

Loved it
Plainly, I have to admit that i was very skeptical before recieving this phone. Numerous people had said this phone was aweful. After a month (quit or take) of use, i have found this phone to be WNODERFUL. I accept no problems with the battery, and i love the keyboard. The color ( i get a blue one) is absolutly gorgeous!! Amazon was very quick on shipping, and i bear no complaints. i have had no problems at all with this phone, and would recomend it to human being.

Turns off
When I in the beginning received this phone I absolutely loved it. But after all together (maybe a month or so) it started randomly turning off. Now it happens all the even so. Only happens ocassionally when on a call, usually when typing a part or in menus. Sometimes it takes several times to complete a subject-matter and get it sent, and it doesn't remember it in drafts or sent (if it turns off while sending the paragraph), so you have to start all over. Very frustrating. I would not subscribe to this to anyone. I am counting down the days until I can upgrade and usual to do more homework than I did with this phone.

Be careful!!!!
I purchased the phone in Dignified, and in January my phone wouldn't turn on. I contacted ATT and they told me they do not disclose warranty for 3rd party purchases, i would have to contact Amazon.com. I called Amazon.com and they told me on every side their 30 day return policy and i would have to go in all respects insurance from ATT to get this phone replace. I just after everybody to think twice before they purchase this phone from Amazon.com. Yes it may put away you some money on the equipment, but if anything goes wrong with the phone. you are out of fortune and the only option you have is pay 100 bucks to get a refurbish phone from ATT that's if you force insurance on your phone. Blackberry does not handle any bond issues. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

There are heartier smart phones
I set up had two BlackBerry Bolds in the past year my first blew the rabble-rouser-phone speaker in the first week I used it. My most late BB Bold has dying pixels on the screen creating this slowly rising black hole in the upper left section of the screen, I hand down have it replaced because it is still under warranty and expectantly it will last longer than its predecessors. I have to say I am not barest impressed with the blackberry bold, but don't take that to scurvy I am disappointed with blackberry altogether I do like many of the other products RIM has introduced to the years but I have had nothing but bad luck with the bold and its reasonable workmanship.

Perceptible Speaker Problems
I induce had the BB bold 9000 for about 9 months now and am now on my 3rd replacement.
Evidentally there is an affair with the external speakers being compressed by the battery entry. After a few months you are not able to hear the phone ring if there is any upbringing noise, even with the volume turned all the way up. Hopefully they fix this tear before my warranty runs out as I don't want to have to rig a $600 phone. There are some fixes to be ground on the internet ([...]) but I am not willing to have to work around a engineering failing.
With that said I love the phone!
Just bought my partner the new bold 9700. Only played with it for a few minutes but so far this looks to be a out-and-out phone.

It's a phone commencement, gadget second.
This phone is a extraordinary-quality piece of equipment that is just the right appraise with just the right amount of gadgetry and pizzaz. I didn't inadequacy an iPhone b/c well, frankly, it's becoming a sort of marker for the uncontrollable DB population in my opinion--I just wanted a nice phone that I could impede email on, surf the internet on the rare occasion I needed to skin of work or home, and communicate with friends via text, FB, and runner. This phone looks good, is very easy to captain, and can take a licking and keep on ticking----I dropped it exterior my house and it laid in thick dew for 10 hours---started justice up the next day when I found it and let it dry out. The screen is absolutely perfect---reliable size and excellent resolution. The apps I've downloaded are useful and not toilsome to navigate--but in all honesty, I don't anticipate using those very much. Out-and-out phone, and with the deals they have for it---great cost out. Get it now before you have to get the redesigned Bold they just released---smaller scan and not as attractive, IMO.

Is it the Temerarious? or is it AT&T? Something is wrong
I've had a difficult with the Bold since day 1. I've gone through three devices and placid have the problem. My phone is echoey, bad service, misses calls, drops calls. It was only just usable. I hated it (still do) until I figured out how to mitigate the hard.
I'm a heavy user of my mobile devices. I put several applications on it that I insist. Google maps for directions, eWallet for passwords...actually..that's all I scarcity. I text message a ton, email a ton.
It turns out thatn once I've flush up my applications, the phone seems to slow down or something. And this "slowness" alone presents itself when on a phone call with all the over symptoms. To fix it, I have to wipe the handheld back to nothing and start during the course of. Once wiped, the phone quality is just fine (I scarcely said great...but I'm so annoyed with the phone I refuse to say it). But if I add the apps break weighing down on...after a few days, all my symptoms will come back. I hostility this...because the GPS is one of the main reasons I got the phone.
I have two bolds on my AT&T design. One for an employee who only uses it for the phone features. His has no problems. All three of mother-lode had this issue. Having just switched from Verizon, I was blaming AT&T for the longest leisure since I couldn't imagine how adding a few apps to the blackberry would bumping phone quality. But now I think I'm convinced it's the phone. The only subject AT&T will do is replace it under warranty. They also possess this thing where if you replace a phone under covenant three times, they'll let you swap out with a different phone OF THEIR Pick. That's not acceptable.
So...I'll tolerate this until the contract is onto...and I think I'll go back to Verizon with whatever the current translation of the Moto Q is. I did like that phone. I've tried the touchscreen ones (Blackberry and iPhone)...and it was too puzzling to type. I used them both for a month each...and didn't like it. It's discriminating for casual use, but intensive typing is too difficult. I need the buttons.

Be thorough about HOW you buy this phone...
So I father been keeping an eye out for a good deal on this BlackBerry Curve 8900 phone. As of November 2009, an unlocked understanding of this phone can be found from $350 to $400+ in this in the US. I thought this was price tag was pretty high, then I bring about this $50 offer on Amazon if you want to continue your in the air AT&T plan. "Good deal!" I thought at first... then I realized they demand you to commit to a 2-year plan on AT&T, the cheapest of which is $30 per month. So... $30 times 24 months = $720 (not to mention the $18 initiation fee they tack on). So you are REQUIRED to pay AT&T nearly $800 over two years to get this phone for $50 now. Um, I over getting the $350 phone now, with no contract, and not spending an exceptionally $450 sounds like the better deal to me!

Ergonomic factor- the 8900 is slimmer, and easier to transcribe on.
Screen has great resolution, too.
Wi-Fi works well, automatically connects to wi-fi networks if you clothed programmed in any needed security keys.
Voice clarity on both tops is great, unlike the problems I've heard with the tour 9630 (that's the water reason I didn't switch to Verizon for the Tour).
Lots of bars in most areas, I ususally have planned the best cell phone reception of anyone around me.
The new operating structure has a browser which makes it much easier to view unalike parts of a web page and zoom in on certain areas.
GREAT camera, rather sharp pictures.
Battery life is pretty good, lasts nearly 3 days with lots of e-mailing and 1 or 2 calls a day.Battery ordain drain very quickly though, if you accidentally leave power-hollow apps running in the background (make sure to hit "CLOSE", don't well-deserved return to the home screen).
CONS:
Unfortunately, I still hit upon PDF attachments very difficult to read since it seems inconceivable to move left and right if you've zoomed in. Luckily I don't have to deliver assign to many PDF's on the Blackberry.
I have mixed results with watching you-tube videos. On the whole works without a hitch, but once in a while they unprejudiced won't run.
Would definitely do it all over again. I was considering the I-Phone, but when it comes to my crucial requirement, which is e-mail, the Blackberry is a no-brainer! If you don't need to use a keyboard too much, or if you don't exigency the push e-mail, then the I-Phone is pretty slick.

Looks reputable, but many design flaws
I chose this phone because 1, it has both 3.5mm headphone jack and micro USB refuge, so that I can use standard headset and charge/data cable. 2, it has a outrageous resolution screen.
However, after one month of use, I found a lot of proposal flaws that I am quite unhappy about. And since a lot of populace talked about its pros, I will only list cons in this.
1, I said one of the major reasons I bought it was it has 3.5mm headphone jack. Since the freestyle life on this phone is quite short so I dont homelessness to use bluetooth a lot. So I bought an OEM samsung earphone with microphone, and it at worst works for music but phone calls. what the heck?? Initially I cogitation the earphone was bad. but after switching to other earphones, and doing some scrutinization online, I found it was designed like this. I have to use a micro-usb headphone to pay for a phone call. I dont know what is wrong with the interior decorator, or samsung simply just wants to make extra notes out of this by forcing people to buy its $20 usb headphone?
2, It only has 4 echo profiles to choose from. Maybe not everyone cares connected with it, but at least it is not enough for me. It wont cost anything to add a couple of more sane profiles. why does't it just make customers more beneficial? And it seems more ridiculous when I fould there are 5 vibration patterns to elect from. I mean, is there anyone going to use it as a vibarator? Why they borther to purpose so many vibration patterns, but just 4 sound profiles?
3, The low battery-operated alarm does not mute at all! Even if you set to "silent" mode, it inclination keeping going off, at the same volume. It made me quite embrassed during a encounter last time.
4, On call menu is very limited. You cannot memorial nor turn on the bluetooth during a call.
5, Slow response, tons people complained about that.
6, Looks pretty lambent, but it is just too slippery.
And many other trivial design flaws that I don't pain in the neck to mention here.
Overall, it is fancy, good for the price (1 cent on amazon). I like it. But it is far from a salubrious phone IMHO.

Truly disappointing phone
My sister and I give birth to a family plan and each got a Samsung Mythic on black Friday because they were having a BOGO provide. Within a week my sister's phone was needing to be charged with regard to every other day. She may have talked on it for about 30-45 minutes a day with some texting, no dejected tooth, no extra frills. She took it back to the store in smaller amount than a month when it would not even stay charged for a ensemble day with no use at all. They gave her a new one which has been working probably since then.
This week my less than two month old phone started doing the faultless same thing. One day it was fine, then all of a sudden the battery would die in smaller number than two days. The one day I used it for less than 15 minutes. I took it lodged with someone to AT&T and they're replacing it. The problem is, I dislike this phone and presume my next one will not hold up either.
Aside from the battery-operated issue, I find the touch screen slow to respond. Furthermore, the camera would be nice if the flash wasn't SOOO beaming. If you use the flash it makes the picture way too bright, and if you don't use it your picture require probably be way too dark. If the natural light is perfect, it takes a most nice picture.
Also, they have screen shareholder type pictures in the phone so when you initially wake up the cover one of them will be on there. You can't get rid of them and create your own.
I do like the keyboard. I'm surprised by how few mistakes I do with it considering it's a touch screen.
Next time I'll equitable get a stupid iPhone.

Immense PHONE! Does a little bit of everything most people yen.
I take had this phone for about a week. I really did not need it but was due for an upgrade anyway and absolute to get this as a second phone since I like to switch up my chamber phones on certain days depending on what I am doing. I normally use a unlocked G1 Google on the AT&T network which works dazzling but is sometimes too bulky. This phone is sleek looking, slim, and has a authentic screen size for most people and is very sharp. If your looking to set side by side this to an Iphone or Google/Android phone, go no further, this phone is not for you. If you are looking for a dangerous looking phone with a pretty good interface and features that are mainly a average touch screen cell phone, then this phone is for you. The use screen is not that bad. There is a slight learning curve which you make get used to in a very short time. The touch screen is not as sympathetic as an iphone but what is. If you are not a heavy web user, this phone works immense. Remember, this is not a smart phone. Most web pages look and effort fine for the casual mobile web users but will not satisfy the hardcore users of active web browsers. The browser in this phone is about a step up from most non knowledgeable phones but not up to par with them. The on screen keyboard works marvy, even if you have big fingers like myself. It is almost 100% on target if you type text real fast and 100% accurate if you epitome text slow. The menus are fairly easy for most population to navigate. Battery life is amazing. I have used it to establish 4 or 5 calls, 75 text messages and some web browsing the go the distance 3 days and it still has full strength on the battery bars. Too uncountable other features to list here. I would suggest you go to the AT&T or Samsung milieu to check out all the features and specs. Just remember, If you do not like it, you include 30 days to return it. I bought mine at Radio Dump fetters for 79.99 with a 2 year upgrade. It is on the AT&T site for 199.00 at the rear a $50.00 rebate with a 2 year upgrade. I tried two other phones (The Samsung Influence and the Samsung Solstice which have a similar interface but the Mythic had a few more avant-garde features and has a Standard micro usb port and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The solstice and inmpression clothed proprietary jacks. No questions asked and no problems when I tried out the other two phones and returned them to Radioshack because I did not like them.

purpose flaw
Be advised the 3.5 mm headphone jack does not effort for phone calls. It will play music and mute when a call comes in but transfer not port the call's audio. You must put the phone to your top and use it as a normal handset. If you plug a headset in while you have a Bluetooth set of interest it will disconnect it. The wired 3.5 mm mic/phone headsets they supply for this phone don't work. There is a mini usb mic/phones set that is assumed to work but they are not available. They want to move you from a $20 headset to $100 stereo Bluetooth headset. I can't credence in that they managed to mass produce this phone with such a dominating design flaw as to not allow the headset jack to work for calls!

This phone sucks!!!

What genre of smart phone is this stupid? I have got close to a hundred contacts on my old blackberry. I dumped them into viewpoint and plan to upload them into this phone I merely bought, and their software does not even support the sync purpose!!!
Ok. Just in case you are like me, who got stuck with Samsung's slow-wittedness, here is the fix if you are lucky enough to find the following links alleviate exist:
[...]
[...]
The second link provides the detailed instruction, which I re-official here:
How to sync the AT&T Samsung Mythic sync with Expectations tasks, contacts, and calendar via PC studio or other sync software? As this facer, some users are saying that the Samsung Mythic does not sync with Point of view by using PC studio. But other some users say there are qualified to sync their Mythic phone with outlook. In this's how they do it.
Note: The version of New PC Studio for the Mythic does not arrange the phonebook sync feature, but the build Samsung_NPS_1.2.1.IH1 does bear it.
1. first installed the PC studio for the Mythic Samsung_NPS_For_Mythic_Figure_IH3
2. After seeing it did not have the phone book sync trait uninstalled it and installed IH1 version list above. 3. Last hooking up the phone please get the phonebook window
you can't see the option on the in the final of the program where you select the function you want. you only tease Media Manager just like in the IH3 version .But the phonebook window is set in motion with the x to close the window greyed out.
4, The sync worked accurately so the software needed to get the job done is present on the Myth

if you covet wifi and no data plan then this is your phone
I wanted a phone that could sync my gmail, google diary and contacts, has a GPS/AGPS, has Wifi and doesn't require a data chart. Well after all the research this is the one I got. I must say that I am not dejected. This phone does it all. You can browse internet while you are on your love-seat away from your computer using Wifi. The synchronization publicize works great with google email, contacts and diary. One thing you need to do to unleash Wifi is debrand this phone (you can google it for instructions). I did it using A2uploader. It is jolly very easy but if you still think it is not your thing you can pay long green and get it done through DaVinci.
There are other good reviews in this that tell a lot about other features on this phone so I don't want to write it all here but again if you want google, Wifi, GPS and no materials plan this is your phone (8.1 MP camera is of without a doubt a plus :-)
FYI, you will most likely buy memory stick M2 with this outcome. So add the cost of that on top of it.

A three-dimensional phone
This is an first-class phone for those trying to choose a subsidized 'free' phone.
PROS
It has a simple good camera, easily on par with most digital cameras that aren't in the hundreds of dollars. No visual zoom, of course, but it takes fantastic indoor pictures with its champion Xenon flash.
It has a wifi radio inside, but you have to classy the firmware to use it, thanks to ATT being silly. This is not hard to do. If you are notebook literate, use A2uploader, and if you aren't, use the paid Davinci service. The know-how to surf the internet when I'm at a hot spot, for free, is a fantastic perquisite. As a 'dumbphone' all the service contracts are much cheaper for this section, but it has more functionality than many smart phones.
It has an FM transmit (requiring headphones for an antennae). And a XMB style media player. It plays pictures, music, all that, in good fashion. It uses DLNA to business movies with my PS3. It can output video to your TV if you get the strand.
It has a great screen for a phone this size, with the mineral looking-glass that will keep this thing scratch liberate for years. Hardest screen material in the cell phone task.
Also, this is just a solid feeling phone. It's soft, but it's a good weight. I like the size a lot (it's a bit larger than my remain phone, but it is very pocket worthy. Not too thin!
It has a GPS, but I haven't against it. When you debrand the phone, the GPS is usable without data, but you would deprivation a navigation program like wayfinder.
CONS
AT&T does not comprise headphones! That's nuts. Sony Ericsson uses a proprietary clog for headphones; that's lame too. You should buy some from Amazon. AT&T in the same way does not include a Memory Stick Micro (and the phone uses a proprietary storage greetings card). With the excellent camera, this was a very drip choice. You need one. Lastly, the AT&T branding is lame. A loud video when you start up and send to Coventry c close off down the phone? I usually shut down my phone when I scarcity it to be QUIET, AT&T! Disabling Wi-Fi is extremely anti-consumer.
Oh, and I have to recharge this phone every day. The scintillate bulb and wi-fi use more power. If you only make calls, this want go a few days between charges.

If you mean to use the camera, beware...
I bought this phone so that I would not beggary to bring my Sony 8.1 mp Cybershot wherever my wife and I went that we power like pictures of. No, I wasn't expecting QUITE as good of photos, but I was gravid an acceptable facsimile. Since the SE is branded "Cybershot" and has an 8.1 mp camera scheduled in its specs, I don't think that was an unrealistic expectation on my part.
When it comes fluff to it, this camera is downright terrible. I don't know how other residents use it, and I was able to coax a FEW 'okay' pictures out of it, but when you have something this ungainly (and it is indeed bulky), you would expect it to take more than a 3-4 'okay' pictures out of above 120.
From what I have gathered, this phone entirely cannot focus on anything at night. So if you want to capture your eventide out on the town, the pictures are going to be as blurry as your memory. Likewise, if you plan on using the flash on anything with eyes, upon to see the worst red eye of your photographic life. Even in well-lit rooms behindhand multiple pictures, people and pets alike had solid-red pupils. Every. individual. time.
I toyed with all the settings, gave it my best pains, but when it comes down to it, I understand the basics of using a digicam, and except this phone says Cybershot right on it, don't expect someplace near that level of quality or functionality. I posted what was event on the AT&T forum, and received similar complaints from another narcotic addict who guessed with great accuracy what kind of situations I was irritating to use the phone in. This was not a defective model, the phone really does take concrete limits to how far you can push it.
I am happily returning it to Amazon and I'm prospering to pick something else out. It's a shame, because although unwieldy, it's an aesthetically pleasing phone. Still, I don't have much use for all the broadminded features of phones these days (if it texts, that's all I basic), but this one seemed to call out to me to replace my actual camera. We aren't unequivocally there yet, it seems.

Deeply short battery life
I straight got this new phone. The phone features are OK. But It has very short freestyle life even with verylight use. Here are the samples:
The first day I worn at work place (I made 5 calls, receive one text meesage, I travel the new features, menu, and setting about 5 mins. I did not watch video or pay attention to to audio. The phone ran out battery and shut itself off at about 5:30pm flatten before I back home.
This is first time, I phizog battery problem. Before SE c905a, I used Samsung blackjack. I can hoodwink many pictures as I want, I can shot hours long video, I can drama games hours, I never worry about the battery. I however need to charge once every couple days. When I was on vacation oversea for 3 weeks. I stifle off the phone and on once a while. It still has battery when I came servants'.
I never thought about the battery probem until I got this new phone SE C905a. I was every nervous to get this phone because the good views from pervious viewers. Though, I am very disappointed because the battery for the phone can not make it during normal daily use. I am not the type of person who talks on the phone for hour want. I just wonder if the person take long on the phone, the freestyle shut itself in the middle of talk, why people want to buy this warm of phone no matter how good the features are? The phone should be a usable phone firstly before any features. I am very disappointed about this phone because of the terriable freestyle.
Update on 10/9/2009
I have been tried to switch the batteries involving the two new c905a phones. It seems one of the battery something wrong. It did not get fully charged. I talked to AT & T, they bequeath ship to me a new battery.
The good battery will last to the core the day if no WIFI on. With 100% at 8am, I will get about 40 to 45% radical at 8pm with several calls and 20 to 30 minutes feign card game which I consider ok as a basic phone. It bequeath make sense if SONY Ericsson makes extended mobile for this phone since it has good camera feature with chic. So people do not need to worry about ran out battery when they plagiarize photos. I will not mind to spend extra $ for extended mobile.
Since the people in previous review already talked at hand some good features, so I do not repeat here. I like to indicate one of feature I do not like. The calendor appointment reminder make a unequivocally short and soft alart, and it only sounds once. You may not indeed notice in a noise environment. I could not find anyway to modulation to different alart tone or make it sounds longer or louder. You can pick out the alart for alarm but not for calendor appointment. This is quite burdensome. I rely on much on appointment alart to remind me the appointments. The Samsung blackjack on keep alart with the alert tone you selected until you can it. I hope SE will improve this feature in later software update.
Other than battery-operated life (which limits the use of camera and video recording) and calendor alart, I like this phone. I hope for to change to 2 star from original 1 star.
Update on Oct. 14, 2009
The replacement mobile from AT $ T also act like the "good battery". With act a stress game for 45 min, no any phone call or did not connect to Wi FI, the battery ran from 100% (at 7am this morning) to 81%. With one phone draw on about 2min and two calendor reminder now when I am editing the post at 2:44pm, the battery-operated is at 53%.
So C905a is battery eater, I need to charge my phone every blackness with light use. Even without any phone call or any project, the phone is in standby, the battery will be about 75 to 80% at respecting 8pm. I do not know how SE calculate up to 14 days of standby time (is it interpretation the phone turn off?).
