when you get your new 9700 if you want to run the IM OR FEW OTHER PROGRAM YOU Necessity INSTALL THE CD THAT COME IN YOUR PACKAGE. THAT IS ATT . their is so much i can say anent this item. but i will just update as i use it. through its diverse test.

A- BB to date, but needs a couple improvements
I tally with mostly everything in "Always Samsung's" review but I'd like to add what I believe are the major Pros and Cons on the Bold 9700 compared to preceding Blackberries.
Pros:
3G
Optical Trackpad (no sticky trackballs anymore!)
Fine fantastic high resolution 480 x 360-pixel screen
Threaded School-book Messaging
New BBM with new features like contact pictures/icons and know-how to send messages to multiple friends all at once
New 5.0 Operating Process (Runs much quicker without lag)
Hot swappable MicroSD up to 32GB judgement (awesome for movies and all your music)
Wi-Fi (super fast! watching Youtube has zero lag)
Wonderful quick Email (almost instantaneous if you use Gmail)
IM (I use Beejive)
Improved Multimedia Punter
Improved memory to 256MB RAM
Visual Voice Mail (see respectively message listed on your phone and choose which one you hunger to listen to)
Cons:
1. Web surfing
I upgraded from a Curve 8300 to the Audacious 9700. I'm on AT&T. Surfing the web on the 9700 is really slow when on Nervous and not on 3G(as the Verizon commercials point out, AT&T does not have 3G all over the diggings). Oddly, it is slower than my Curve 8300 when on Sensitive. I'm really not sure why this is the case but I'm assuming that perchance it has to do with the new OS and how it is only optimized for 3G? I've set all my settings in browser Options strictly so that it loads the quickest whether or not I'm on 3G or EDGE, and it doesn't import even if I turn off loading images, etc. Therefore I use Opera Mini because it is categorically faster than the default BB browser. On Wi-Fi, both Opera Mini and BB browser are amicable and fast, takes about 4 secs for Opera and about 6 seconds for BB browser to burden pages.
2. Speakerphone
Also, for some odd reason the speakerphone on the 9700 is not as showy as my 8300. I'm not sure why this is the case. At its max volume it is probably 70% of what my old 8300 can do. And the sturdy quality is not as good as the Bold 9000. The Bold 9700 distorts at max measure. The Bold 9000 has a really good stereo effect to the sturdy when playing music stored on the media card or off Pandora. The Outstanding 9700 sounds a little monotone, even after adjusting the "EQ".
3. Mini USB?
So yah, they switched to Mini USB. It comes with one enrage fail charger and one mini usb cable. Which sucks because now you attired in b be committed to to buy extra mini USB cables including a new mini USB car charger.
4. Applications
Not as diverse applications as iPhone obviously but there are some good ones.
If they had the yet amount of applications for Blackberry as they do the iPhone, it would consummately own the iPhone.
Summary:
-All in all the Bold 9700 is a great phone and I wishes always love it over the iPhone because I like to comprehend and web surf while driving. You can't do that with an iPhone or any touchscreen however phone because you need two hands. haha
-Blackberry Mercury is the best hands down. What other phone gives you unconstrained texting?? Saves me lots of $$ each year on texting. Seniority of my friends are on Blackberry so the texting is free. I only have to buy 200 content messages every month or $5 worth to be able to hornbook my friends not on Blackberry.
-I have a 16gb microSD card in my phone so it makes my iPod and Zune out of date basically. Plus if the battery runs out I can just put in a new freshly charged freestyle. You can't do that with the iPod or Zune.
-Being able to sync with my Angle calendar is a plus too. Having to carry only one device for multiple uses makes soul easy!

I compel ought to a problem: Crackberry Addiction ...wasting my life
If there's a way for me to be excessively productive, and have so much less use for a computer, it's because of the Blackberry Pronounced 9700.
Previously, I owned a different smart phone running windows portable OS. It was actually pretty good, however, I never knew I was living in the melancholy ages. The Bold 9700, in comparison, is much quicker, more sympathetic, has a ton of support, apps, and updates (when available). My work demands admission to email, GPS, sometimes web browsing, and a camera, and by far this phone is nicest suited out of any phone. It's very well balanced, has many options and ways to customize your phone, so you can bear it extra personalized. In fact, all these capabilities is why it is a crackberry for me, because I can get wrecked using so much time going through my Bold 9700.
For a sensible and fast connection, I use the wifi a lot. Otherwise I use the 3G service, but it doesn't occupation as well as wifi.
I'm a huge fan of the optical track pad, replacing the trackball, and not identically as painful to use as a touch screen phone. I also love well-built qwerty keyboards, so keep 'em comin! This is not the perfect phone, but most irrefutably the highest quality phone I have ever used in the past. It's also the perfect size and weight, slightly thin, not too deviating, and light. Though it's light and a little slimmer than other brilliant phones, the build quality feels solid and sturdy.
The interview on this thing is super hi-res. I feel like I'm watching TV when I be prepared videos on it. The menu system, it's functionality, and customization makes the phone uncomplicated and pleasant to use. Pictures taken by its camera usually come out definitely good in situations with sufficient light, but low light causes washed up pictures, and the camera twinkle only works well in close range.
There are a yoke of glitches I've dealt with already, and hope to see a fix for that. At intervals the security manager, which asks for permission to trust new apps, kept repeating it's alacritous and froze the phone. The other thing is that the blackberry menu knob sometimes changes its options, leading to missteps in functionality. This has been rare so far, but trust to see a fix for it. The micro-SD card in the back of my phone is a pain to get out (I had a larger index card to put ins). It took me forever! Sometimes the multiple uses on this phone can be mind-boggling to novice users. I'm also not too crazy about paying from the Crackberry devise ...it should be the norm for all phones to have access to inernet by now, and unexpectedly charges should not be associated with smart phones.
Now, with all that gen aside, I would highly recommend this product to guise, as it is easily the best phone I have ever had, and I imagine I would be keeping it sustained time (like over a year)
I'm not too excited about

Well enough worth it to upgrade to the Bold 9700
I upgraded my Curve 8310 to the Valiant 9700 and I have never looked back - I think the upgrade is advantage it for the following reasons:
1) 3G - MUCH faster I actually use the internet now vs. the extremely slow Edge network
2) Faster CPU - this Bold is much faster than the Curve no respite times
3) New OS 5.0 - it really is nicer and easier to use - especially with manual messages
4) Beautiful screen - you need to compare the Curve and Rash side by side to really see the difference
5) Optical trackpad - for those who tease had your trackball wheel get stuck (or fall out) you will find worthwhile this new trackball
So far I haven't had any problems with the Bold and would subscribe to it - one thing, if you are switching from the Curve to the Bold it's going to resort to awhile to get used to the keyboard layout - be patient, you'll get used to it but in the well-spring I made alot of typing errors. And yes the browser is still bad but heap Opera Mini and you'll be good to go -

Customer Reviews
following 2 months, it's almost unusable
As a ruleI had a Samsung Propel, but lost it in December. I needed a new phone with a qwerty keypad, and the LG Neon seemed like a abundant bargain. You can go to your local Wal-Mart and pick this feeling up for less than $100, pop in a sim card, and you're ready to go. Sounds important, right? But after a few weeks, problems began to emerge.
I bought this because I don't dearth many features. All I wanted was a phone with which I could get calls and send texts, and I wanted a qwerty keypad. This one has a fairly pleasing design, with buttons spaced out nicely. It likewise has a touchscreen, but you can only use that to dial numbers, so it's really more of an afterthought. The Neon seemed to mount just fine for what I needed it to do, at first. Then I started noticing the problems.
It's revoltingly slow. For example; you get a text, you slide the phone open to perspective it, wait about 2 seconds before you can actually do anything, then you pester the button to view the text, and wait about another 2 to 3 seconds for the communiqu to appear on the screen. Everything you do on this phone is like this. The phone is unpleasantly slow.
For some reason, the phone would just show up off from time to time. Not just when it was in my pocket, but oft when it was just sitting on a table, with a fully charged mobile. But it should also be noted that this phone is melodic bad about unlocking itself in your pocket.
The keypad is a bit frustrating. It can be very tedious typing punctuations and numbers. I don't know how to explain this suitably, but it's not a problem I've ever had with other phones. I've just conditions gotten used to this keypad, and it's such a pain to use numbers and punctuation, that I discover myself avoiding typing them whenever possible.
In the former week or so, I've been experiencing a new problem: for some reason, when I originate a call, I'll dial the number, and then hear silence for more 10 seconds. Then I hear the person on the other end saying, "hello? hello?" This happens every span I make a call now. My wife said that she picked up the phone a compelling 5 seconds before she could hear me talking. I don't know what that's all there. I've never had this problem with any other phone, but it was this hornet's nest that has finally made me decide to get a new phone.
Go to your neighbourhood at&t dealer, and play around with their display beau id. You'll notice that it feels cheaply made. It is, inside and out. There are much change one's mind phones for the same price. Samsung makes 2 great phones: the Magnet and the Thrust, which are both great, reliable, durable, functioning phones. I got a handle on my Propel back when I renewed my contract, so I don't know its consequence, but I do know that you can get a Magnet for about the same price as the Neon, and I would strongly inform anyone looking at the Neon to consider the Magnet. I've just bought a Motorola Karma, which you can get for forth $160 brand new if you buy it online. That's a good bit more that the Neon, but actually, almost anything is better.
I would recommend reading reviews from population who have owned the Neon for a little while, as opposed to those who no more than bought one. My Neon seemed great at first, but quickly became the worst phone I've by any chance owned. I almost wrote a really positive review when I commencement got this thing, but I'm glad I waited, because I would bear misinformed people.
Bottom line: this is a cheaply made phone, and there are others in this expenditure range that are much better.

Wonderful Phone
It took a bit to modify to the keypad. I formerly had an LG VUE and loved the touch-screen. However, that notable phone malfunctioned multiple times and the screen became unresponsive. The Neon is a famous messaging phone. The phone sends and receives pic and video messages much quicker than the VUE (which on didn't send image files at all.) The camera is superior quality for a cell. The only things I am not crazy about: want of keypad (unless you slide the phone open) when trade, and no night feature in camera mode (that I can find.) Else, the phone works well, sound quality is good, etc. Sensible product for the price.

Whole great phone!
This phone is advantage the $80 which included a $50 airtime credit. I pull someone's leg owned it for a month and haven't had any problems. I bought a 4 gig memory fated for it that only cost $10. The 2mp camera works okay, the pictures are not the top. Looks like they are taken from a phone, but it's nearby when you forget to bring a camera. The phone will intuitively save the pictures to the memory card, which is then amiable to put inside your computer. There is no need for cables to carry info. You can also load pictures and songs from your PC onto your homage card and then use them on your phone. You can then use the phone as a MP3 sportsman while on the go. I wasn't able to use my songs as ringtones. There is no chance to select it, so you have to buy the ringtones from the online At&t store. That's genuinely my only complaint. The phone has a loud ringer which is good when you put the phone in a pocket or purse. There is an auto ringlet function, so you won't be butt dialing anyone!! The battery living is okay. I have gone a few days without having to require it. For a pay-as-you go phone, it's definitely one of the better ones.

charming phone but there is a catch
If you are not planning on using this phone for the phone browser, do not get an att phone. They wish force a media package on you for the minimum of $30 on top of your ordinary phone charges. I already have att internet at home and I look upon this excessive. I offered to be put on a data connect plan so that if I chose to use the browser on danger situations that the charge would be rather expensive ($2 per mb or something)...so I tried to get everywhere it but lay the responsibility on myself. I also tried calling in with a separate phone and giving that IMEI number, but apparently they are tracking what phone I hardened even the day before. I am seriously considering going to another Typhoid Mary in which I have been a customer since 2000. Now, if you scantiness the extra charge and the browser package I think this phone is spacious. The color is unbelievable during a video. I enjoy the MP3 player alot. The layout is not so available but easy to handle once you figure it out. The reception is clear and I dont get any complaints. SO the phones important but att is forcing a payment for enjoying it. So I recommend not getting this phone with att.

Phone Has Lingering Track Ball issues...skip this version!
I was actually looking forward to having this phone. Great keyboard layout, secure productivity, etc....THEN I had troubles with the track tablet. Today, I had to call for my FOURTH replacement of this model. All but one beforehand had a problem with the track ball stalling, slipping and flatland not working. The first one took several months and was a gradual drop down...the one sitting in front of me is stalling and jumping as soon as I put the battery in.
Superficially RIM no longer makes this phone with this trackball. They quick skipped to the next version with a TRACK PAD!!!! I would RUN DO NOT Steal from any blackberry with a trackball. The way this particular phone is expected, only RIM can repair the track pad, and the way it is designed it is IMPOSSIBLE not to get dirt and muck on and IN the trackball, and equally guaranteed it will need to be repaired. Did I tribute that this is ALL under warranty?
I know people Lover their crackberry. If, luck of the draw you get one bad phone, like I did, you are in for a lubricous awakening. All I could ever get is a refurbished replacment phone, and no one have worked properly (including one that had no bluetooth or wifi whatsoever). I tolerate that I have been caught in some horrible course of inheriting other people's problem phones. I have been in refurbished Blackberry Nether regions. What has astonished and frustrated me most is the incredibly poor responsibility by either T-Mobile or RIM. Not to mention the expense to pay for shipping each just the same from time to time the phone had to be replaced, the hours to replace all contacts and calendar, re-habitat up email (I don't bother any longer), find and re-download all apps, ringtones (supposing 3rd party paid apps were mostly lost), and putting my own settings in arrears. Apps cannot be backed up or transferred...so I use my phone less and smaller amount due to nature of not wanting to become dependent on it again (kinda not the applicability of having a PDA)
I hope it is a fluke, my experience. But it has been an exercise in frustration, and no one doing profitably by me. I paid a LOT for this phone, and NEVER had one that did not have a problem. RIM does not have all the hallmarks to stand behind their products, from my experience. If it is a quirk, should be no problem to send me a NEW 8900, or a replacement with a longer than 90 day commitment. Sadly, I do not trust this phone, RIM or T-Mobile to properly fortify their products. And I do not want anyone else to have to go finished with the misery of dealing with a 2 week old phone that does not m when hundreds of miles from home (Like me).
Based on what I tease learned, and am now an expert: do NOT buy an 8900!!!! You are taking a chance, and you are pretty much guaranteed your trackball bequeath lose its function sooner or later...and $$$$$ to fix.
I am doubtful I would buy a RIM commodity again.
P.S. if you want to sync with your Mac, you MUST be sustained Leopard or Snow Leopard. Any other operating system, like Tiger you are out of good break!

I include had this phone for 3 months and have kept it in mint term - 2 days ago I was texting on it when the screen when light-skinned and a small black spot showed up on the inside of the screen. When I took it to the promise exchange they told me that they consider this harm that I created and won't honor the warranty. I have NO clue how this alligator could have formed considering the outside doesnt coequal have the slightest hint at damage. Be careful when using this phone.

troubles ordering this phone
I maintain tried for three days now to order this phone, without celebrity. I place the order, I get my confirmation email, and shortly after my for the purpose of a disordered disappears from the "My account" page. I never received an email giving away the whole show me about any problems. So I emailed customer service and they told me that my body was automatically cancelled by the system. Hmm, thanks for letting me know, I would possess waited for my order forever.
So I placed the order again, changeless thing. Customer service told me to keep trying. I likewise tried Amzon Wireless, here the order never goes through at all. So I called customer service again, they don't know what the stew is, all they told me is that this is one of their most prevailing phones and they didn't hear about any problems ordering this phone. Fair keep trying. So I tried, from home, from profession, on my laptop, on our desktop, with Firefox and with Internet Immigrant. Nothing.
After three days, several emails and calls to Amazon I am so frustrated that I arrange ordered the phone somewhere else now, even though I am not getting it for complimentary. Guess what, 30 minutes after placing the neatness with the new seller I have received my shipping notification with my new phone #.

Be vigilant about HOW you buy this phone...
So I beget been keeping an eye out for a good deal on this BlackBerry Curve 8900 phone. As of November 2009, an unlocked adaptation of this phone can be found from $350 to $400+ in this in the US. I thought this was price tag was pretty high, then I organize this $50 offer on Amazon if you want to continue your going round AT&T plan. "Good deal!" I thought at first... then I realized they requisite you to commit to a 2-year plan on AT&T, the cheapest of which is $30 per month. So... $30 times 24 months = $720 (not to in the $18 activation fee they tack on). So you are REQUIRED to pay AT&T nearly $800 past two years to get this phone for $50 now. Um, I think getting the $350 phone now, with no pact, and not spending an extra $450 sounds like the better contract to me!

Wonderful e-despatch machine
The 9700 Adventurous is a wonderful e-mail machine, especially if you have multiple accounts to take care of. The web browser stinks. I use an iPhone for anything more than serendipitous checks on news sites. When carefully managed, mobile life is great. RIM has finally recognized that us Mac users carrys BBs. The new Mac desktop practice works well. Check it out here. [...]
The Bold's camera was a wonder to me. It is excellent. Within a few feet the flash is OK, the color is fine and the indistinct is much better than any other smartphone I have seen.
While not its genius, the Bold does well connecting to the social media like Trilling and Facebook.
In short, if you are an e-mail person, the Bold is your beat choice, If you are a web browser, get an iPhone.

Only fantastic phone
This phone is wholly fantastic. If you are considering a smartphone, there are many factors to ponder and you need to take time to decide what is important to you. Do you stand in want to use it to play games, or run nifty applications? Do you need great freestyle life? Is WiFi or GPS important? Will you be traveling and need entrance to a variety of cellular networks?
My first foray into smartphones was a Samsung Import, which I returned. You will find Android phone users allot a lot of time figuring out how to maximize battery life: many populace run widgets that let them turn on and off WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth in proceedings to get extra time before the battery dies. Placing calls with an Machine phone involves multiple steps, which I thought took too much lifetime.
The Bold 9700 performs the main functions I need hellishly well. Some highlights:
1. Calls are easy to make and collect. I can pick up the phone and press one speed dial key and the call is made. Or I can note a few letters of a contact's name and the phone finds the match. Making a baptize is much faster on this phone than on an Android phone.
2. Mobile life is terrific. I never worry about turning off GPS, WiFi, or Bluetooth. They run all the stretch. With full use of the phone - voice, messaging, streaming music - I can use the signet for about 36 hours.
3. Messaging is great. Emails, SMS texts, chats on different services, ie Blackberry Messenger and Gmail, are all simple to use.
4. Google unification. I use and share Google calendars, and they're automatically synced.
5. Vast international performance. I took this phone to Haiti in the rear the earthquake, and used it to talk, chat, text, send rear pictures... it worked flawlessly. (Go to the Blackberry website and look up the specs - I about it worked so well because it seems to support about every cellular group there is!)
6. Polish. There are a lot of little things that can how well developed this phone is. For example, if the phone is ringing in the holster and you apart it out, it stops ringing. A silence key on top of the device is accessible through the holster. The keyboard is terrific, the filter is terrific. There's a message indicator light. It's got a great camera. At domestic, it routes calls automatically over my router.
Negatives? The web browser is comely terrible. It's very slow. Free alternatives, like Opera, are readily obtainable, but the BlackBerry is not nearly as good a web browser as the iPhone, Palm Pre, or an Robot phone. There is also a lack of applications that are ready on the iPhone. You won't be able to AutoTune your voice with this phone, or be occupied in an Ocarina.
I would recommend the Bold 9700 to anyone who wishes a device that first and foremost works great as a phone and handles email, texts, ready-to-serve messaging, and calendars very well. It may not browse the web or play games as incredibly as some other phones, but at the end of the day, my phone still has plenty of freestyle power and is keeping me in touch - just what a phone is theorized to do.

don't get T-Non-stationary
Our sense with T-Mobile is that they couldn't keep prints of our payments. Despite the fact that we paid, skept our receipts, and made repeated conscript to T-Moblie Customer Disservice, they couldn't figure out sick we paid or not. Every other week they turned the ritual on and off. Finally we gave up.
T-Mobile never deliverd the service we paid for. They not in the least refunded our money. Then they stuck a bill collecter on us (claiming we owe approximately $30) who has been calling for the last year.

Surprising BlackBerry
The critical reason I moved from the 8900 (which I loved) to the 8900 was for the well-advised b wealthier battery life. I am hard on my battery. Plus, my husband had one, and I could not let him compel ought to a newer BlackBerry than me :)
First off, yes the batter is better. My 8900 and 8320 to come that couldn't last a day - I am a super heavy user, email, tizzy, multiple apps, streaming music over bluetooth most of my day. Add in to that I drudgery inside a building, not that close to the outside, so signal can be blurry at times. My 9700 can last a whole day without a charge, no disturbed.
The keypad and optical touchpad are different than the 8900. It took a spot time to get used to, as changing to any new device does. My husband complains the touchpad is too hypersensitive, however I have found that it works great for me, now that I am old to it.
The OS is great. I had OS 5 on my 8900, but it seems to be smoother on the 9700, I guess it was built for 5.0. I pay attention to to music on it all the time, but I am not into watching video, tv, or movies on whatever smaller than my 50 some inch flat shield.
The buttons and holes on the side have moved around, so now I can guardianship my 9700 while it is in the case, which is nice. Although I learn myself searching for the buttons and connections, I think they are in much improve places on the 9700. There is no awkward hand potions when holding and charging as there was on the 8900.
I am acclimated to to the button to get the back off of the 8900, so just pushing and pulling on the 9700 was a hardly daunting at first.
I guess my biggest gripe is the micro sd comedian is a little hard to get out.
Overall, this is the BlackBerry to have.

Fair camera but heavy for a phone
I got this for my chain so she doesn't have to carry her camera, like 2 in one. However she is moaning that the cell phone is too heavy & bulky, also be conscious of the center data button that will cost you everytime you unintentionally handle it. I just called AT&T to block out the data services. Wish Sony can make a show it thinner.

Secure phone, GREAT once treasure-like features unlocked
I take had this phone for over a month now.
I was always looking for an all in one appliance that does everything well...
Unfortunately, such a ruse does not exist.
I would ideally like to have music Thespian, phone, internet device and camera at all times.
Now, this isn't successful to replace your camera (if you know you're gonna be taking pics... i.e. customary on vacation)
but for those times when you don't have one but kinda demand you did, well you're in luck.
It takes decent photos, has useable shoot, but no optical zoom (fine by me)
I had already ordered the phone (no evidence plan required for "subsidy") even before finding out adjacent to the disabled features.
The most interesting feature of course was the wifi.
I had some skepticism, but behindhand having "debranded" the phone, i can verify that yes, it does industry, and yes, it is really easy. Aside from wifi, getting rid of all the AT&T medianet and all that junk in the menu was also nice. Some additional camera menus became convenient as well as ability to use mp3s as ringtones.
Overall, very happy with the phone. My just regret is that the phone does not have a QWERTY keyboard... I content a lot... or i used to.. now when i get texts.. i just sigh and try to put off replying for as great as possible
Pros:
Decent size, not too big, not too small.
Camera lens lid/slider
Excellent screen, great resolution and brightness
I can reserve at the worst halfway decent pics anywhere I go
Good chastise sound quality
Cons:
What the heck is with this M2DUO muck, i have so many micro sd cards already...
NO HEADPHONES INCLUDED likewise you HAVE TO USE a proprietary jack... which also seems to authorize FM radio... (i don't care about the radio)
Prepare to lay out the extra dough for the M2DUO card (this is like a must), and the headphone (seems to turn with 3.5mm adapter) and be prepared to send very dreary texts. But, you will get wifi without having to pay for data, a becoming camera (excellent by phone standards) and an overall very fetching well built phone

Not Utterly Up to Expectations
I was in the Stock Exchange for a new phone & read the overwhelmingly positive reviews on this one, so bought one. I can't truthfully say I'm happy with what I got. There's some bugs that are as a matter of fact annoying. My previous phone was a Sony Ericsson 580i with ATT navy, which was really good. I could get 5 bar reception anywhere, staid in basements of hefty buildings. This C905a phone has serious welcome problems. I guess they skimped somewhere in the antenna or recipient, nonetheless, reception drops constantly, even if I'm outside. I loaded in the heart of Silicon Valley, not out in the sticks, so I shouldn't be having this complication. I travel by train daily up & down the valley & there's bad soir where ever I go. Can't blame ATT because my other phone worked authentic, & I see all the folks with Iphones on the train having no reaction problems at all.
Another problem I have is, while the phone is imagined to multitask, I cannot be on the internet & make a phone call at the unaltered time. If I try, my net connection terminates immediately. So much for the company's claims. Other problem is the battery life. If I get on the net, the battery will last more 1.5 hours, and it gets so hot it concerns me that the phone thinks fitting melt. You may have read the battery cover is hard to sack. That's a gross understatement. With the directions right in fa of me, it took an hour of constant sliding pressure before it began to make haste. Come on, Sony-E, do you really think that's reasonable? For those of you who pull someone's leg these phones, I discovered I could slip the blade of a nick knife under the edge of the cover & pry the sucker off quickly, which I discovered when the phone's OS froze in net fashion & I couldn't even terminate it with the power off switch, & the phone reached somewhere almost 130 degrees. I then had to pop the battery out while the power was on as my hindmost chance to stop phone Armageddon. In other words, this phone can be a protection hazard.
Other phone features are good & I really like them. The purchaser interface is very intuitive & you can figure everything out very quick. It has the same layout as the 580i. But heck, the problems of this phone cocker anything else good about it. Don't buy it. Thumbs down!

if you lack wifi and no data plan then this is your phone
I wanted a phone that could sync my gmail, google chronology and contacts, has a GPS/AGPS, has Wifi and doesn't require a data arrange. Well after all the research this is the one I got. I must say that I am not unhappy. This phone does it all. You can browse internet while you are on your settee away from your computer using Wifi. The synchronization spot works great with google email, contacts and chronicle. One thing you need to do to unleash Wifi is debrand this phone (you can google it for instructions). I did it using A2uploader. It is really very easy but if you still think it is not your thing you can pay the ready and get it done through DaVinci.
There are other good reviews in this that tell a lot about other features on this phone so I don't lack to write it all here but again if you want google, Wifi, GPS and no evidence plan this is your phone (8.1 MP camera is of conduct a plus :-)
FYI, you will most likely buy memory stick M2 with this upshot. So add the cost of that on top of it.

Customer Reviews
Contrariwise problem is the battery life . .
and that can be solved by either using a spontaneous aplication killer app, getting a better battery (they procure a high performance battery on sale at Amazon, and my personal fondness getting a docking port that charges the battery in the phone plus a leftover. And you can of course just not dowload a hundred applicatins that looked absolutely cool, but you're never going to use after you played with them for a while.
And you can't drained the price!

I enjoyment my phone
Behind schedule a few weeks of using the Droid Eris, I can only gush around what a great experience using this phone is. The codify factor is, in my opinion, much prettier than it's big brother Droid, and the HTC's Reason UI is a cinch to get the hang of (and beautiful as well). The apps for Machine are many and useful. I opted to buy the Seidio Innocell 1750 mAh Battery-operated for HTC Droid Eris after using the standard Eris battery-operated and coming to the conclusion many others have, the stock battery-operated sucks. But, with the price of this phone being so low, paying $49.99 for a new freestyle (and another $23 for the Seidio Innocase II Surface Case for HTC Droid Eris (Titillating), AWESOME case), I am in LOVE. I was thinking of switching to AT&T for the iPhone, but I am so appropriate with my Eris and what it's capable of that I haven't looked behindhand.

Extraordinary phone for the price
This is one smashing little phone for the money. I just bought it a couple period ago for 80 bucks (after rebate). So far so good.
This has been my beginning exposure to Andriod, and so far I love it. Especially with HTC's sense UI...Phew! Transitions are mostly glassy, and I don't find the phone to lag unless I'm transitioning from heavier-impact apps (for instance, from a game to the home screen last will and testament sometimes lag a second or two).
Pros:
*Android
*Touch-Screen
*Robot Market. Seriously, this has almost ruined my productivity and effectiveness. A lot of time can be spent just browsing and downloading very sang-froid apps. This is a wonderfully fun pass-time.
Cons:
*No update for Machine 2 (yet!...I've seen pages on the web saying that HTC is active to release one soon, though)
*No physical keyboard. This isn't a big administer for me, but at least give it some thought as a virtual keyboard isn't for everybody
*Mobile life. This one I'm not used to. Coming off of a full charge, my phone commitment not last me more than one day. Compared to other phones (albeit, they weren't buxom featured phones), this performance is pretty poor. Within approx. one hour, the instil will drop from 100% to 80%, and then, in the wake of that, discharge more slowly ~10% per hour. All in all, I would sense that I get around ~8-9 hrs total battery life out of a busty charge. This is what brings it down to a four-heavenly body. If the battery lasted longer, I would give this phone five stars, hands fine hair.
Bottom line:
If this phone was lost or stolen, I would absolutely want another one. This is such an upgrade from my before-mentioned phone experience, though, that I may not be entirely objective. But for anybody a moment ago wanting a fun phone, BUY THIS one! You can't get much better for the price.

Most Good Phone, almost...Great
The Tolerable:
-8 GB SD Card
-Screen Resolution
-Customizable screens
-Numerous(usable, useless, and pointless) free apps
-Lightweight
-Music Actor
-Touchscreen keyboard has a minimal learning curve, very temperately to use
-Vertical or horizontal screen
Could be better:
-Camera, don't let the 5.0 megapixel chump you, it takes decent pictures but not as good as the Moto Droid or Samsung Omnia which are comparable phones with 5 MP cameras
The Bad:
-Because it cannot be said plenty, the battery. Absolutely awful.
-Flash Player or lack thereof, onerous time with YouTube videos and the YouTube app(which is pre-installed) doesn't frisk vids at all and I have seen MULTIPLE complaints on YouTube's mitigate forum about this same issue with no obligation
Overall:
I am happy with the phone, there are a few nuisances that it is possible that the 2.1 upgrade will fix when it becomes available. For the valuation, you can't beat it.

partially-baked
This phone has a lot of vow. The Android operating system gives you tight integration with Google Articulate (which can automatically make your international calls for you for pennies per journal) and Google Mail. Using "Mytracks" with the GPS is fun and useful. And, correctly, it's cool having internet in your pocket. But:
- every antiquated I booted the phone, Google Voice would crash.
- the HTC input program, that lets you variety text into the phone, would crash in the middle of emails and not let my personification until I rebooted.
- many of my conversations were badly muffled. I googled this and followed instructions on switching to "EVRC-B" character "EVRC" (these are algorithms used to encode voices). The importance improved, but people have reported not being able to form calls from some parts of the country after making this thrash. Without it, the quality was patchy for me (Boston area). I didn't require to have to play with internal network settings to get the phone to toil.
- The phone dropped calls, giving a "Signal Faded" report. I checked with Verizon, and this wasn't recorded by the network as a dropped invitation - therefore it was the phone. I never had this problem with my reduced flip phone.
- I couldn't play Youtube videos to the Youtube player.
- the phone was laggy. This means you're typing and letters aren't appearing, then rise all at once. Or it means that you're looking through your wake up history to make a call, press on a number, and call the oppress number because it took 5 seconds to update the list pageant.
- with moderate usage the battery lasts about 6 hours. This is on the whole fine if you're between office, home and car chargers, but sometimes it's not tolerably. I was always turning parts of the phone off to save battery life.
- video superiority is poor, particularly the sound, compared to an iPhone (which admittedly is more priceless).
In short, you get what you pay for. This phone is really cheap - but the savings are insignificant compared to the cost of a 2-year plan, and I'd recommend getting the finery phone you can to take advantage of the investment that plan represents.
