Flagrant inexpensive full featured phoneLast three months of constant hard use, this phone has held up spring. The battery life and call reception are very good. For an inexspensive phone the features are with the exception of, the WiFi and bluetooth capabilities are outstanding!!!. I am able to ultilize the bluetooth with both LINUX and Windows Vista, albeit not a smart phone,syncing the phone is still possible with the nokia software. Internet permission is great and fast for a phone of this size and price, I can study my IP cameras from the phone and accessing URL IPs are very easy.
Bluetooth connections to other devices are equally very good, I presently have a Garmin Nuvi 660 to the point and all features work great, minus the texting mode.
My former phone was the Samsung Blackjack, a windows CE based phone, it had numerous bells and whistles , but not as functional or compatible with the Nuvi 660 as the Nokia 6086.
For texting the 6086 T9 and its intimation text can use a little improving, but I donot text much so I can viable with this draw back. As with all phones with american firmware the Nokia is little to English, French, and Spanish languages. Hopefully phone manufactors resolve be able to give the consumer a choice of languages in the future.
Over all I build the Nokia 6086 a very good phone in features, excellent in evaluate, and extremely good for combatibility with other devices.
Does accurately what I bought it for
Digest: Good phone and service. So-So battery life with WiFi and some two a penny annoying features.
I've been with T-Mobile in the south Chicago suburbs for all through 6 years. I started my own construction business and needed something to use both in the chore and out on jobsites. This phone and the HotSpot service fit the bill literally. For the extra $10 a month for HotSpot, I've probably saved $30-40/month not upgrading to a develop with more minutes.
I use the phone at my office on WiFi and come to someone's rescue my 600 plan minutes to use out in the field. The WiFi connection has been other than and the only issue has been incoming calls occasionally affluent straight to voicemail instead of the phone ringing when on a WiFi network. When I am on a WiFi reason and leave the office, the transition occasionally has a click or dead consideration.
As others have posted, I found that battery existence is reduced when using the phone on Wifi. I came from a Motorola phone with a distinct interface, so there are some minor Nokia annoyances but nothing that makes the phone un-usable.
I would procurement this phone and the HotSpot service again in my situation.
worst Nokia phone at all times
I drink been a life long Nokia cell phone user, and so when it came to upgrading my mom's apartment phone, I bought another Nokia for her. She has used it for 3 months now. She has had nothing but non-terminal problems. The phone keeps getting heated, getting discharged overnight. The wi-fi timer is very poor. I installed a wi-fi signal booster a few feet to another place from her chair and still no difference. The worst part is the precipitate discharge and poor voice quality. I will now have to buy her out of the ordinary cell phone. A month ago I upgraded my own cell phone. I had asseverative to never ever buy a Nokia and so bought a Blackberry curve. This too has Wi-Fi. I oblige never had a problem. Strong signal all over the house, no heating up. No disquiet battery life is poor, but 2 days with 2 hours of talk in the good old days b simultaneously is not bad. I would thus not recommend buying a Nokia Wi-Fi. It is a pity that from the great leader they are continuously going down. I personally force never ever buy a Nokia. I used to blindly buy Nokia phones and they served me valid well. But I think they have lost their technology nervous. Time to move on to another brand.
Power use makes phone useless
I set up owned many Nokia phones but never one that disappoints the way this one does.
Mobile life - lasts 2 days at best, this is after trading in for a new battery-operated and never using WiFi
WiFi - useless as it eats the freestyle alive and drops calls. You will have to charge the phone every day if you devise to use this. It also often cannot find a WiFi network metrical if you are standing next to the router.
Connection - difficult to find help where other Nokia T-Mobile phones have no issues. Equally inconsistently receives/doesn't receive calls when the phone is sitting in the exact same place at the same time
The ability to make or receive a telephone call is really the most important consideration with a phone and that is the conclude for my low rating.
Fitting Phone
My shush and I both have the Nokia 6086. While these have not been riddle free, they are decent cell phones.
My husband had to get a replacement because the rabble-rouser went out and he was unable to hear his phone ring or hear character talking. This went very smoothly with Nokia.
At the back having my phone for about a week, I had to get it replaced because it would not stop charged. I could charge the phone and in 2-3 hours it would be out. Since my husband has the same phone, I charged the battery that came with my phone in my phone. He charged the battery-operated that came with his phone in his phone. When both batteries were fully charged, we switched batteries. My phone was unemotional in 2-3 hours. His phone still showed a full order after 12 hours and a lot of calls, so obviously it was the phone, not the freestyle. T-Mobile replaced my phone and I haven't had any problems with the one I currently be dressed.
I have found 1-2 days on a charge is pretty much general for any cell phone we've had. It depends upon how and how much it gets utilized. I don't see any difference in power consumption with the WiFi connection.
The sole other problem we have encountered is that sometimes the phone does not live on the WiFi connection. We can make a call while connected, brace in the same place during the call and when we finish profit we lost the WiFi connection.
In our opinions, these are not big problems.
This phone, with the headset plugged in and acting as an antenna, receives FM radio. Amazingly, it sounds graceful good. It's not high-quality stereo, but it is a lot more than I even so it would be.
For what we want out of a phone, this is a good acceptance. Cell phones should be chosen based on needs and wants of the purchaser and, of course, what one can afford.

Perfect JUNK
This was the thorough worst piece of junk I have ever bought off of Amazon the notice shipped is not the one pictured its slightly different and is JUNK.

shoddy, but not great

Excellent PhoneDedicated battery life, easy to hear. It is a phone, a great phone. It is not a camera, it is not a parley processor, it is not a computer, it is a phone. It does not sing for you, it does not skip for you, it is a phone.
T-Portable blocks 3rd party applications on this phone
When I got this phone, it was one of the few that T-Non-stationary had that supported their 3G network. Unfortunately, what I did not comprehend was that T-Mobile had had Nokia create a custom firmware for their adaptation of this phone. The custom firmware blocks network right of entry for all third-party apps - useful apps, such as GMail for stall phones, the Google Maps app, Opera Mini and so on.
Gracious flip phone
I'm surprised to see so numberless bad reviews for this phone. I've been using mine for close to a year now and really like it. I've always used flip-phones not (this probably my 6th or 7th) and I like this one the most overall.
The beneficial -
* Excellent main screen and bright enough to be useful the same in sunlight.
* Nice large and esay to use buttons.
* Has full slant sync capability over bluetooth (a really big plus for me).
* Unceremonious to use interface.
* Decent voice quality and signal retention (all the same I'm using it with ATT).
* Even the external screen is pretty saintly.
* Battery life (contrary to what other reviews be experiencing noted) has been decent on my phone.
The bad -
* I would definitely esteem if it was shorter and slightly thinner (width is perfect IMO).
* The music trouper, even though just about works, is not something I would buy this phone for.
* Camera is unworthy of average by today's standards.
Even though this phone does not pat a candle in terms of features to the new phones out there, it is the best fit I can muster up for my needs. My average use of the phone is about 2+ hrs of talk occasionally daily (most of it using bluetooth headset) and periodic syncing with slant over bluetooth. So it also serves as my calendar and alarm-clock. With this custom, the battery lasts easily 2 days, sometimes 3. The utterance quality is decent (loud and clear) and even the speaker phone is actually usable (though not in noisy places), no complaints about either, granted I have only used it with ATT.
The external screen unexpectedly got cracked recently (my mistake) and I have decided to get this phone once again. I was hoping by now there would be something available which has all the things I like around this phone but a bit smaller, but unfortunately couldn't find any.
Dont get it
I solitary give this phone 1 star because it powers on when I thirst it to.
Calls echo, batteries die way too quickly and overall it fells way too economical.
Very discouraging considering previous Nokia products I have owned.
Some delightful features, but....
Most of the confident comments are true. Some of the 'battery life' comments are, say, 'fallacious'. Sure, my wife and I both only get 4-5 period with very light usage. But if one only gets one day, one all things considered didn't follow the initial charging directions. So, even with the unqualified features, our main gripe is that the screen is useless in alfresco lighting for the phone book/contacts. The Tmobile store rep tainted the font to 'largest', which helped some. If you use your chamber outside, don't get this phone. My old Samsung T209 was better as a central phone.
