subsidize lookingThis phone is frustratingly junky. I'm on my sec one - the first one would freeze and crash and the only way to get it to start up once again was to physically remove and re-insert the battery. It did that for weeks ahead of it just died altogether. The replacement for that one was fine for a twosome months but now I can't keep a call connected for more than 30 seconds in advance it drops the connection. I've seen on forums that many, profuse people have had similar problems. Shame on Samsung for not issuing a rescind on this piece of crap.
Not a bad unimportant phone!
I undergo the need to defend my cute little Samsung C417, because it's gotten entirely a bad rap around the internet.
I've used this phone since Hike 2007, and have had very few problems with it. Yes, as someone else mentioned, the headset jack is proprietary, and that amicable of sucked. Bluetooth has worked like a dream for me, though, ignoring the fact that you can't sync the phone with a laptop or whatever via Bluetooth. The camera is polite--not wonderful, but isn't that what digital cameras are for? The buttons are a satisfactory size and well-lit. The screen is good. It's very durable--I've dropped it a assort of times, sometimes from quite a ways up, and it's held up nice through that.
I did have an issue once where I was nosying all the menus and ended up locking myself out of the SIM card and having to organize it replaced. It was something under the "security" menu. I found out later, via a Google search, that I could tease found out the code I needed to unlock the SIM card on the AT&T website, but by the at all times I figured it out I had already rendered the SIM card useless. Curiosity killed the cat. It would hold been more devastating had I saved all of my contacts to the SIM card less than the phone.
But, yeah, this isn't a bad little phone, noticeably for beginners. And it's thin and fits in my pocket without creating a stick out!
Misplaced Business Clients Due to Samsung C417
I be subjected to had the Samsung C417 for ten months, and have experienced "Insert SIM Card" unruly from day 1. Why did I wait 10 months to do something up it? got me. When this message appears, I cannot make nor clear calls. I must power down and up the phone to clear the SIM wrongdoing message. After finally reaching me, Clients have told me they had called my phone, but there was no measure of such calls on my C417 phone. Lost business patrons is NOT a good thing. I do hope Samsung has fixed this problem by now. If your phone is lower than drunk warranty, you can call (800)801 1101 to get a "warranty replacement" phone at no expenditure. Good luck.
could be outstrip
I bought this phone uphold in Oct.06 from cingular during their promo for this phone. I do like the expanse and compact feature of this phone. Nevertheless,performance is dreadful. Callers on the other end complain that they hear unmoving when talking to me. Reception is also poor with this phone. Why can't they cajole a phone that actually works when you use it. Don't bother with phone.
The worst phone I've had
I participate in bad signal or non at all in places where I used to have signal all the era. A co-worker had the same problem and told her to return before 30 life(wish I had) - Can't change the screen menu. The camera knob goes off all the time (badly situated). Not a good ringtone timetabled. Battery marker will have 3 bars and then nil. Can't wait to change it!
