Effects phone if you don't require much.I appreciate personalized ring tones and don't like buying them from my transporter. This phone only plays midi files, so disregard about personalized MP3s and it won't connect to your computer for data convey. The side port only allows charging or headset use.
In my judgement Samsung + T-Mobile = Crappy service. Unlike Nokia phones, both Samsung phones that I've second-hand take extended periods of time to download small prototype messages. In addition, they won't start downloading the messages if you're on the phone.
Samsung likewise provides far less control features, one important one for me is the ability to block personification messages. There is no blocking feature available on this phone at all. I can do it fully my T-Mobile account, but for a temporary block that is excessive.
The phone works fine and it's wonderful easy to open because of it grippy design. It looks attractive sleek too because it's that metallic green color. All in all it's an okay phone, but I press my phones to the limit and this one reached its limits too quickly.
My War Horse!
I... Partiality... THIS... PHONE!
I am a smartphone user, but I everlastingly keep this one in my bottom dresser drawer just in trunk. This thing just refuses to die.
When I lost my Palm Centro in year, my T-109 stepped in as replacement until I got my new BlackBerry. When a shocking accident befell my BlackBerry a month ago, it was there for me again.
What can I say? Ardent battery life, very easy to use. It's a very simple phone. Turns on and off at, never seems to lock up. Always connects in a timely construct. I have been nothing but pleased with this phone.
The no greater than drawbacks are sound quality and overheating. The sound quality on this phone is not the nicest in the world, especially if you are using a headset. Also, DO NOT take this phone case on a hot day! Even when it just gets a *little* warm facing, the screen begins to "white out" and soon it is completely faded to nothingness. Of way it does return to normal when it cools down, but even so.
If you need a phone for your clumsy teen that seems to debilitate everything... or if you need a reliable backup like I do... this is assuredly the phone for you.
Rather Low Quality Headset
I be dressed been using the Samsung SGH-t109 for a year now. I would give the Samsung SGH-t109 5/5 stars except for one point: the headset is very low quality. My previous phone, which was a Samsung SGH-e335, was indeed nearly perfect. However, the e335's headset plug gave out and I was stilted to buy the SGH-t109.
With the SGH-t109, when I use the headset people on the other end cannot allow me. The headset microphone and speaker inside the earpiece both compel ought to a poor frequency response and the conversation is muffled on both tops. Also, the microphone has poor sensitivity and the volume level on the other end is too low. Furthermore, Samsung distorted the shape of the earpiece from the e335 to the t109 and it won't stay in my ear. It keeps falling out. Because Samsung untouched the plug, I cannot use the old earpiece. I doubt I can even find a third social gathering replacement, although I haven't looked. I have better things to do with my ever than to look for an earpiece with a proprietary Samsung plug!
In California, while driving it is required by law that an headphone be used for hands-free driving. How Samsung could have habituated to such a poor quality earpiece is beyond me. The thing keeps falling out of my ear when I'm in the car or doing doesn't matter what else!
I do not use text messaging. I do not need a camera on my phone. I do not necessary to use the internet from my phone. I have my computer for that. All I call is a basic phone. Other than the earpiece, the phone itself is really quite solid except for two problems mentioned below. The phone has a personal property menu system. The t109 feels solid and not flimsy. Except a step down from the e335's individual silver metal dyed buttons, the t109's buttons are fine once you grow usual to the change. The t109's buttons also light up when they are pressed or the phone is opened. Excluding the e335's graphics were better, the t109's are functional. Battery-operated life is good and are within stated specs.
2 PROBLEMS WITH THE SGH-T109:
1) My one street, within my neighborhood, has poor coverage. Moreover, I much travel to another city which also has poor extent. Both the e335 and the t109 antennas have lower superiority reception compared to Nokia. Even though the t109 is 3 years newer than the e335, Samsung not in any degree improved their antenna sensitivity. I often have anguish getting more than 1 bar out of 6. I have a 2 story home base and sometimes calls are dropped on the first floor because I expend all bars and phone is "SEARCHING" for a signal.
2) Because Samsung changed the show improvement of the t109 from the e335, when I open the phone and lay the t109 next to my face, when I end the call I often bring into the world a mark on my cheek where the phone is placed. When opened, the connect of the t109 is sharper compared to the e335. This never happened with the e335.
I can animate with the 2 above problems. However, I do require a better je sais quoi headset. I cannot believe Samsung used such a low quality headset. How can Samsung go from the e335's believable quality headset to the T109's poor quality headset? Samsung unqualifiedly must improve the T109's headset ASAP.
